Insurance Writers of America is the brainchild of Aymee Curbelo, a teacher, an accountant by profession, who
placed her career on hold to raise 4 children with her husband Pedro Curbelo. After years of being a full-time mom, a part-time bookkeeper and partner to the consulting firm, the mompreneur decided to launch her career full-time again.

She became interested in the insurance industry while assisting the consulting firm’s clients to find insurance coverage. She realized the business opportunity and quickly seized it by becoming an insurance broker. Paired with the support of her entrepreneur husband, Insurance Writers of America (IWOA) was founded. IWOA specializes in unique risks, personal and businesses liability, with a concentration in Excess & Surplus lines.

Insurance Writers of America is a subsidiary of Pro Consulting Int’l Firm

“Our focus is to deliver a value-based insurance policy to the client without sacrificing coverage, through education knowledge, and consistency. The client’s best interests come first, even if it means losing the sale.”

Insurance Writers of America and the Curbelo family are committed to helping others. Together, they formed The Curbelo Family Initiative, a public platform where people can volunteer their time to help the local community.

Pedro Curbelo helps seniors in the south Florida community with the coordination of basic medical equipment and supplies. He also volunteers his time to educate the community on how the healthcare delivery system works. He is a certified Non-Profit Manager and has served on the board of directors of multiple non-profit organizations, which lead him to pioneer a mission to deliver basic medical necessities to seniors in his native country of Cuba.

Aymee Curbelo volunteers her time and knowledge at the local library for the public program Citizens in Action. She is a certified citizenship instructor and educates legal US residents from South Florida on becoming naturalized American citizens by teaching them civics, American history, and citizenship classes. She has helped hundreds of students to successfully transition from residents to citizens.

Insurance Writers of America’s headquarters serves the local community as a drop-off location for donations of non-perishable goods to aid victims of natural disasters. The most recent collection was to help the victims of Hurricane Irma in Immokalee, FL.
