Pedro Curbelo is a Cuban-American entrepreneur, a husband to his childhood sweetheart and a father
of four. Pedro has had more than two decades of experience in business ownership and over a decade in
risk management and business consulting. His education, work experience and accomplishments make
him a unique individual with a keen eye for business.
In 1996 he joined the telecommunications industry where he learned sales, marketing, retail &
wholesale management. By 1999 Pedro had not only achieved industry recognition as a top salesman
but was the owner of a small chain of retail cellular phone stores which he sold to pursue a new
opportunity. In 2004 he was recruited and employed by Tyco, the company which he credits for his
education in risk management, during his time there he received his certification by Hillsborough
Community College in loss prevention for Fire, Burglar, Access Control & Video Surveillance Systems, he
was awarded repeatedly for exceeding sales quota including the Centurion Club award, given to only a
Since 2006, his entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity has guided him to own multiple businesses across
different sectors including the Healthcare industry, where he spearheaded a physician group to manage
their risk and coordinate the health care delivery of thousands of patient lives; served on the board of
multiple nonprofits and became a certified nonprofit manager by Nova University.
Pedro is now the COO of Insurance Writers of America, in addition to this role he is a licensed 220
insurance broker managing the agency’s Aviation, Marine and Commercial Insurance risks. He also is the
CEO of PCI Int’l Firm, a business acquisition and consulting firm which helps small business owners
achieve financial success.
